About ~ Renew Body Therapy
Principle: reduce stress
stored in the body
Every day, we experience different types of stress—physical, mental, emotional, and chemical. Our bodies can adapt, but when stress becomes overwhelming, muscles tighten in a protective response. Chronic stress causes the muscles in the body to be in a more or less constant state of guardedness. Over time, this tension can become locked into the body, putting pressure on nerves and leading to pain, stiffness, numbness, weakness, or poor posture.
Many people notice gradual fatigue and discomfort before more noticeable symptoms appear. Stress-related muscle and joint pain commonly affects the lower back, neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and jaw. It can also contribute to tension headaches and migraines.
Renew Body Therapy helps release this built-up tension. This is key to restoring normal function and breaking the cycle of stress overload.
Why does the body
become tight?
Physical Stress & Injury
Many people experience impact injuries, such as falls or motor vehicle accidents. At the time, they may feel fine, but the effects often surface years later, manifesting as tension and tightness in the body.
Mental & Emotional Stress
Stress and anxiety are major contributors to physical tension. Many people don’t realise how deeply their emotions affect their bodies. When the mind is overwhelmed, the body responds by tightening, leading to stiffness, discomfort, and reduced flexibility over time.
Chemical Stress
Chemical stress results from exposure to certain pollutants, foods, drinks, or airborne substances. When the nerve receptors in the mouth, throat, and nose react to these chemicals, the muscles in the throat, face, neck, and head contract. This response can lead to aches and tension in these areas, further contributing to overall discomfort.

Origins of Renew Body Therapy
Danielle, the Renew Body Therapy practitioner, trained in New Body Therapy under Russell Roads.
Twenty-five years ago, Russell discovered Body Stress Release, which healed his twisted spine. He then adapted the practice to include on increased emphasis on resolution of energetic blocks - and founded New Body Therapy. At his practise on the Sunshine Coast, Russell has helped people find relief from physical pain and their mental and emotional stress. Now, Danielle continues this work with Renew Body Therapy from her home in Sunrise Beach, supporting others on their journey to restored wellness.
What happens during an appointment?
-
Introductions
During your first appointment your practitioner will give you a brief explanation of RBT and take a detailed case history.
-
Treatment
You’ll remain fully clothed and lie down on the massage table. Using gentle reflex tests, the practitioner will identify points of stored stress in your body. A gentle, precise touch is then applied to help release tension, restore communication, and support your body’s natural healing process.
-
Follow Up
Your practitioner will schedule three initial appointments over two weeks. Attending all three is important, as RBT is a process, and some clients may experience increased sensitivity, especially after the first session.
While many feel relief quickly, additional sessions may be needed depending on how your body responds and how long the tension in the body has been held.
Do’s & dont’s after an appointment
-
Do - Rest and recouperate
After a RBT session, take time to rest and allow your body to recalibrate and heal. Prioritise sleep. Be gentle with yourself, avoid overexertion, and give your body the space it needs to fully integrate the release and restoration process.
-
Don't - Overexert yourself
After a RBT session, avoid intense exercise, overexertion, heavy lifting, running, or stretching, as these activities can counteract the treatment, worsen symptoms, and slow the healing process.
